Comments Off

Kelley Hill is in jail, accused of letting her boyfriend’s 12-year old son drive the family car. The boy, Jake Fry, lost control of the car and collided with another vehicle near Woodland, Washington. Authorities contends Ms. Hill may have let Jake drive before and willfully disregarded the known dangers of letting him drive.

This tragic case raises a number of interesting legal issues involving liability theories for negligent supervision, the negligence standard for minors and available insurance coverage.
