Five-year old Selena Bailey was hit by a truck last Sunday while riding her bicycle. She suffered head trauma and died at Southwest Washington Medical Center.
Selena’s twin sister witnessed the accident, which occurred outside their home. Police indicate the driver was not speeding (it is not reported whether he committed any other driving infractions).
This very sad accident highlights the importance of drivers’ obligations to maintain a proper lookout for bicylists, especially children who might not know how to ride safely or with awareness of their surroundings.
